Leave the dressing in place for approx 1 hour, then remove and gently wipe away any excess ointment. Gently wash with warm soapy water and pat dry, do not rub dry.

Massage a small amount of Vitamin A&D enriched ointment, Vaseline or E45 cream into the tattoo and cover with cling film about half an hour after removing the original dressing.

Leave the cling film in place 24 hours a day, changing it once a day after washing and re applying A&D Cream, Vaseline or E45. Continue this for 5 days after which time the tattoo should be virtually healed. The cling film tricks the body into thinking that there is no wound, so excessive scabbing is avoided.

Should your tattoo scab do not pick it as it will damage the end result.

Do not use any other cream apart from A&D cream, Vaseline or E45 unless you purchase a dedicated tattoo aftercare cream such as tattoo goo.

Shower rather than bath for the first week and avoid prolonged soaking of the tattoo.

Avoid the sea, swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi sun beds and direct sunlight for the first week.

Any spotty rashes around the tattoo may indicate that you are applying too much Ointment.
